Kia Sonet makes its way to dealerships ahead of India launch

New Delhi : Kia Sonet SUV, which is scheduled to be launched in India some time during the festive
season 2020, has now started arriving at Kia dealerships across the country. This is a clear indication
that Kia Sonet launch in India is indeed this month, even the South Korean automaker is yet to confirm it.
If you find yourself interested in bringing this upcoming SUV home, Kia Sonet bookings in India have
been officially open since last month. In fact, the company managed to rack up more than 6,500 pre-
orders for the upcoming Kia SUV in India on just the first day! So, if you are interested as well, you will
need a token amount of Rs. 25,000.

Kia Sonet will come powered by the same engine options as the Hyundai Venue; the range includes a
1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit, and a 1.5-litre diesel
motor. Late last month, Kia Sonet fuel efficiency details also emerged; according to the leaked images,
Kia Sonet turbo petrol model claims a fuel-efficiency figure of 18.3 km/l with the seven-speed DCT and
18.2 km/l with the iMT. As for the Kia Sonet petrol 1.2-litre version — this one promises a fuel-
economy of 18.4 km/l. Finally, Kia Sonet diesel — this one is said to claim a fuel efficiency figure of 19
km/l with the six-speed AT and 24.1 km/l with the six-speed manual gearbox.
The automaker will offer the 2020 Sonet SUV across two trim levels, namely, Tech Line and GT Line.
While the Tech line will have five trims, the GT line will have only one top-end trim. Provisions across the
range will include LED headlamps, LED DRLs, LED tail lights, faux skid plates, electric sunroof, LED
mood lights, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, UVO connectivity suite, etc. based on the
selected trim and variant.
