Bhumi Pednekar’s ‘Durgavati’ to release directly on Amazon Prime?

Mumbai : Following the ongoing trend of digital streaming, producer Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia
Entertainment has also decided to follow the footsteps of other producers and has opted OTT release for
one of his production. It has been recently learned that Bhumi Pedneker’s ‘Durgavati’ produced by
Vikram, along with Akshay Kumar and Bhushan Kumar will be directly released on Amazon Prime
Video.
After ‘Dolly Kitti Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’, Bhumi Pedneker is all set to be back on the digital screen
with ‘Durgavati’. Durgavati is an official remake of Anushka Shetty’s 2018 Telugu film, ‘Bhaagamathie’.
Directed by G. Ashok , its a horror thriller that tells a story of a woman stucked in a haunted place while
being interrogated in a corruption case. Bhumi will be seen playing the role of an IAS officer.
The film also stars Arshad Warsi, Jisshu Sengupta and Mahie Gill in pivotal roles. Akshay Kumar can be
seen in a cameo role in the film.The film’s principal shooting is almost done and a two-days shoot will be
wrapped up in Mumbai very soon.
Known as the woman of fortitude with a strong moral ethic and learning, Bhumi Pednekar always
remains vocal about social issues such as pay parity and environment issues. But from her latest social
media post, it seems like Bhumi is taking a break from her hectic devoir and spending her precious time
with family in her hometown, Goa. Bhumi Pednekar shared a motley of pictures on Instagram in which
she went on a temple pilgrimage in her village Pedne and disclosed several facts about her ancestral
roots.
In a series of snaps, Bhumi is seen offering prayers to God, wearing a mask following the Covid-19
precautionary measures. While showcasing the beauty and serenity of her various visits to the temples,
Bhumi wrote, “We did a pilgrimage in our village called Pedne. The pilgrimage is made up of 3 temples –
Mauli Devi, Bhagwati Devi & Ravlnath Temple all are around 300 to 400 years old.
Bhumi further added more about her enriched lineage and wrote, “The Pednekar’s, our earliest written
record is in the books of the Ravlnath temple from the year 1902. The temples are full of stories,
surrounded by medicinal streams of water and tons of energy to heal. Every trip back there teaches us so
much…Grateful for our culturally enriched lineage. Peace,Strength and Joy.” Well, a few people knew
about her glorious ancestral history and it’s quite appreciable that she still connects with her royal roots.
Bhumi was recently seen in Alankrita Shrivastava’s ‘Dolly Kitti Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’ along with
actress Konkona Sen Sharma. The film was released on Netflix.
